  • Horse Camp
This is a 3 day camp usually the 3rd or 4th weekend in April.  This camp is open to 4-H members in the Mammoth Cave Area. 4-H members bring their horses to learn riding instruction and participate in workshops related to horse care, showmanship and equitation/horsemanship skills. Information about this camp is usually mailed out in early March. At least one parent or supervising adult must attend with their child.

  • District 6 Horse Judging
This contest is open to all 4-H members in district 6.  Members will judge a set of four horses on their conformation and performance.  Information for sign-ups will be sent out in early March.

  • District Hippology Contest
This contest is open to all 4-H members in district 6. Members will identify breeds of horses, equipment, colors, markings, etc. The contest will cover a written test, identification stations and judging classes.

  • District 6 Horse Show
This contest is open to all 4-H members in district 6 who have a horse. Members will show their horse for ribbons and prizes. Information for sign-ups will be sent in mid to late March. Show Divisions include: Miniature Horse, Speed Division (Barrels, Poles, Flags, Stake), Western Pleasure and Ranch Division, Walking, Racking and Mountain Division, and Hunt Seat Division.

  • District 6 Horse Banquet
This is an awards banquet for 4-H members in district 6 who have excelled on the district and state levels. Awards are given to horse judging and hippology contest champions, top ten individuals and top two teams; District Horse Show high point and reserve high point individuals; State Horse Show champions and top ten individuals. The banquet is usually held on the 1st Monday in November.  Award winners will receive information in mid to late September.
